"What's in a Name?"

Star-crossed lover Juliet Capulet once asked, “What’s in a name?”

When it comes to a medical project like AccessiHealth, my response would be: “A lot.”

Our name is our brand. It serves to capture the eye of audiences that are accustomed to the rapid pace of today’s technological world, paying little attention to topics they deem uninteresting.

Thus, to maximize our impact, we needed to create a name that stood above the sea of apps and organizations with similar goals. Our team of AccessiHealth co-founders understood this significance and initially struggled to brainstorm names for our organization. We soon resolved that the name should capture our purpose — to equip and empower individuals with the knowledge and ability to take control of their health by enhancing their healthcare experience.

We are motivated to create equity within the current healthcare system, considering that countless communities in the United States do not have adequate access to this basic necessity. By fusing two words essential to our mission, “accessible” and “health,” our project’s name was born.

AccessiHealth.

The spotlight of our name is at its center — the “i” in “AccessiHealth.” Our mission will be fulfilled when every member of our audience can assert, “I am empowered to take charge of my healthcare experiences as a result of my interactions with AccessiHealth and the resources that it provides.”
